Job Descriptions

What is physically expected of a dealer and how long will he/she be standing at one time?

21 Dealer
Stands and deals for one hour, takes a break then returns to dealing. Takes an average of one to two steps to the left and right sides of the table while paying and taking the bets.

Baccarat Dealer
Is seated at the table while dealing, deals for one hour, takes a break then returns.

Bartender
Stands and and walks behind the bar while mixing drinks and serving customers. Some lifting may be necessary. Breaks vary, usually two short breaks and a one hour lunch.

Craps/Dice Dealer
Stands, bends forward and sideways, as needed while dealing, taking and placing customers bets. Depending whether he is on a three or four man crew, he will deal at the table for forty minutes, then take a twenty minute, or will deal for one hour and then take a twenty minute break.

Pia-Gow Poker Dealer
Stands and deals for one hour, takes a break then returns to dealing. Takes an average of one to two steps to the left and right sides of the table paying and taking the bets.

Poker Dealer
Is seated at the table while dealing to the customers. Deals for one hour, takes a break, then returns.

Roulette Dealer
Stands, spins the ball & walks back and forth behind the table paying and taking the betting chips. Depending if he's on a three or four man string, he will deal at the table forty minutes, then take a twenty minute break, or will deal for one hour, then take a twenty minute break.

Pit Supervisor
With the knowledge of Level III, you may advance to Pit Supervisor. He counts money, solves problems, pushes in to deal if a dealer gets sick or leaves the table. Walks from game to game supervising, stands at his podium or sits box at the crap table. He is sent up to surveillance to watch the cameras. With regular breaks and a one hour lunch.

Surveillance
Needs the knowledge of level III, sits and watches dozens of small TV screens where camera's cover tables throughout the casino. Spies down from one way mirrors watching for anything peculiar going on at a table. Lunch and regular breaks times vary.

Your Break is yours to read, make phone calls, eat or visit with people. All casinos have comfortable employee lounges. Break times and lunch breaks vary at every casino.
